Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a tool created by the European Community to which all organizations can voluntarily join (companies, public authorities, etc.) to evaluate and improve their environmental performance and provide the public with information on their environmental management . It is one of the voluntary tools activated in the 5th EU action program for the environment. The primary objective of EMAS is to contribute to the realization of sustainable economic development, highlighting the role and responsibility of companies.
